G30 Wireless Keyboard Remote Control with 10 Metre Range and Nano Receiver for Media Centres

The G30 wireless keyboard remote control offers a practical solution for navigating computers, smart TVs, and home theatre PC (HTPC) systems without being tethered to your equipment. Operating on a 2.4GHz frequency between 2400-2483.5MHz, this compact remote maintains a stable connection across distances exceeding 10 metres, making it suitable for larger living spaces or presentation environments. With its low power consumption requiring a working current under 1.5mA and a standby current below 20μA, the device extends battery life while providing responsive control. The included Nano receiver plugs directly into standard USB ports, enabling immediate pairing without complicated setup procedures. This combination of keyboard and Air Mouse functionality allows users to browse content, type text, and control media playback from across the room.

Features and Construction

The G30 wireless remote control is designed around practical functionality for home entertainment and professional presentation scenarios. Its technical specifications focus on reliable performance rather than decorative elements, with electronic components optimised for consistent operation. The device requires a 3.0V power source, typically provided by two standard button cell batteries that fit securely within the housing.

Material and Build

The remote features a plastic housing that keeps the overall weight minimal for comfortable handheld use during extended viewing sessions. Internal components include infrared sensors for motion detection alongside a wireless transmitter that communicates with the Nano receiver. The construction prioritises durability for everyday handling, with button placements designed for intuitive access to media control functions. The electronic circuitry operates efficiently within the specified current parameters, contributing to the device's extended battery performance between replacements.

Size and Practical Fit

While exact dimensions aren't specified, the remote's design as an Air Mouse suggests an ergonomic form factor that fits comfortably in most adult hands. The Nano receiver's compact size allows it to remain connected to computers or media centres without obstructing adjacent USB ports. The 10+ metre operating distance provides flexibility in room arrangement, allowing users to control their system from sofas, beds, or presentation areas. This range accommodates typical living room layouts where entertainment systems might be positioned several metres from seating areas.

Uses and Placement

This wireless remote control serves multiple applications beyond basic television operation, extending to computer navigation and presentation equipment management. Its compatibility with standard USB ports makes it versatile across different manufacturers' devices, provided they support basic HID (Human Interface Device) protocols. The device functions without requiring proprietary software installation in most cases, though advanced features might benefit from manufacturer-provided drivers.

Event or Professional Use

For business presentations or educational settings, the G30 remote allows presenters to control slideshows or media playback while moving freely around the room. The 10-metre range provides ample space for engaging with audiences without returning to the computer between slides. The keyboard functionality enables minimal text entry for search queries or file navigation during demonstrations. Low power consumption ensures reliable operation throughout extended conference sessions or training days without mid-presentation battery concerns.

Everyday Home Use

In home entertainment scenarios, this remote simplifies navigating streaming services, digital media libraries, and internet browsing on smart TVs or media centres. The Air Mouse functionality provides precise cursor control for selecting content on screen without cumbersome directional buttons. Families can pass the remote between viewers without worrying about direct line-of-sight requirements common with infrared remotes. The device works equally well with living room computers used for entertainment, allowing comfortable couch-based browsing rather than sitting at a desk.

Benefits and Buying Value

The G30 wireless remote control offers practical advantages through its combination of extended range, low power requirements, and straightforward connectivity. Unlike traditional infrared remotes that require direct pointing, this 2.4GHz device maintains connection through obstacles within its operational radius. The included Nano receiver means no additional purchases are necessary to begin using the device immediately with compatible equipment.

Reuse and Low Maintenance

The remote's design emphasises straightforward operation with minimal ongoing maintenance beyond occasional battery replacement. Standard button cell batteries are widely available and inexpensive compared to specialised power sources some competing devices require. The Nano receiver can transfer between different computers or media centres without re-pairing procedures in most cases, making it convenient for users with multiple devices. The device lacks complex settings that might require regular adjustment, supporting consistent performance across different usage scenarios.

Why Choose This Product

This wireless keyboard remote control provides a balanced combination of practical features rather than specialised extremes. The 10+ metre range satisfies most residential environments without the complexity of longer-range professional equipment. Low power consumption extends battery life while maintaining responsive performance during active use. The complete package includes all necessary components for immediate use, eliminating the need for additional adapters or accessories. While lacking some advanced features of higher-priced alternatives, it covers essential media control and basic text entry functions most users require for home entertainment or basic presentation needs.
